Leanne Ford's Crate & Barrel collection, through the rooms that made her

Leanne Ford is an American interior designer known for a modern, lived-in aesthetic and a white-on-white palette. After a decade working in fashion, she drew national attention when she restored and redesigned a turn-of-the-century schoolhouse in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. Her work has since appeared in Architectural Digest, Domino, House Beautiful and The New York Times.

She co-hosted Restored by the Fords, which premiered in 2016, and Home Again with the Fords, which followed in 2021, alongside her brother Steve. She also appeared on A Very Brady Renovation and Rock the Block Season 1. Her books The Slow Down and Feel Free Home carry that point of view into print, and the Crate & Barrel collaboration is where I would shop her current furniture and tableware.

Leanne Ford's Kiln dinnerware brings her Pittsburgh pottery studio to the table

Kiln is her newest tabletop story at Crate & Barrel: hand-molded, hand-glazed stoneware inspired by the “wonky wobbly” pieces Ford makes in her Pittsburgh studio. The plates and bowls have organic contours and a lightly speckled glaze, and the range includes both single pieces and sets.

Range makes the companion edit for serving, with dinner plates, mugs, bowls and platters. I would pair one piece from either line with a Willy table or an arched Annie cabinet, then let wood, stoneware and open space do what Leanne's rooms do so well: feel relaxed without losing their point of view.

Where I would start with Leanne Ford's rooms

I would anchor the room with the Annie storage cabinet, then leave breathing room around it. For a quieter first step, bring in a Kiln dinner plate and one favorite serving piece. That simple mix of handcrafted shape, natural materials and open space is the part of Leanne Ford's work I keep coming back to.
