Best Resortwear for Women: Slip Dresses, Swimsuits and Vacation Sandals
A full vacation wardrobe in one edit
Built For One Trip
A real resort wardrobe is built in layers that move easily between sand and dinner, not one single going-out outfit. Ciao Lucia's Iris red cotton poplin dress does the transition piece well, a crisp fabric that survives heat without wilting into a wrinkled mess by evening. Hunza G's Pamela one piece swimsuit anchors the actual swimming half of the day, ribbed and stretchy enough to move from ocean to poolside chair without a change. Wide-leg linen pants and slip dresses fill in around the swimwear and the sandals, giving the same simple palette somewhere to go once the sun starts setting. Raffia and kidskin sandals carry the whole look barefoot-adjacent, low and undone rather than dressed up.

Dinner Shoes Enter The Rotation
Flat raffia gets a break once dinner reservations enter the picture, and this stretch is where an actual heel shows up. Loeffler Randall's Gavi wedge is the easy translation, natural-toned enough to match everything already in the suitcase but with enough lift to read as evening. A striped linen skirt from A.L.C. does the same job for the bottom half, structured where the swim cover-ups were loose. A dress or two fill the remaining gap, built for the one night a trip calls for something less relaxed than a slip dress. The wedge and the block heel are doing double duty: dinner shoes that still survive a sandy walk there.

Our honest take
This edit works because it resists the urge to over-pack a single trip with too many competing ideas. Everything here moves along one line: swim, walk, eat, repeat, in fabrics that can handle salt water and a late dinner in the same day. Hunza G's ribbed one piece and Ciao Lucia's poplin dress sit at opposite ends of that line, one built for the water and one for everywhere else. The sandals, mostly raffia or kidskin, are doing the connecting work, casual enough for a boardwalk and clean enough for a table by the water. Nothing here needs much styling effort, which is exactly the point of dressing for somewhere hot. If you take one thing away, it is that a resort wardrobe should be edited down to pieces that can do double duty, not expanded to cover every possible occasion. I would pack the swimsuit, one dress and one pair of sandals and call it done.
